Let's be honest, online is nothing compared to on campus. Zoom is great and all, but it lacks the excitement and interactivity that in-person class sessions have that keep students engaged. So here is the challenge for you: find a way to make the online experience better. What you define as 'better' is up to you. It could be more enjoyable, more engaging, or more educational. Right now, zoom is very similar to just watching a YouTube video. Can you bring the online experience to life in a new way? This will be tough because you have to find a solution that is simple and can work for a variety of different class types. It also has to work regardless of the location of the online student. This is an important problem to solve because right now student don't feel incentivized to stay active and learn anything in online classes. For me, it feels like I have no reason to come to an online session if I can just watch the recording later. When students don't pay their full attention to the class, they fall behind, so this added interactivity would make the learning experience much better. You could expand this problem to tackle the online experience entirely, not just during classes.
